First grade... a world of difference!

The title pretty much tells the story for me. Josh started school a few weeks ago. He was pretty excited and ready to go back. Thank goodness!

I don't know if you all remember but last year we almost had to drag him crying each day. It broke my heart and I almost gave up! I was ready to take him to counseling because of it.

This year he has said things like "I'm glad I don't have to go to that baby Kindergarten again." Or "Good thing I already know my way around this school." It's too cute!

It's been such a blessing to watch him grow and enjoy school. Now he wakes up and asks if he can go to school each day. I can't wait to see what 2nd grade holds for us!

What a brave boy...isn't it great to recognize the ways he's grown in just one short year?

He's getting so big! I'm so glad that he likes school now. Makes things easier on his Momma!

Childhood anxieties are such a real thing for our young children and when they ease away, it is almost like God has given us new children. I am glad he is loving his class and is excited!

I remember having those thoughts, too. He'll be okay. Love and hugs to all of you.

School hasn't started for us this year. But we had a child who would NOT go to school without a fight. In the 5th grade! This year we are going to do his school online so he doesn't have to deal with whatever it was that bothered him so badly, but still has to do the work.
The rest of my kids like school and do not want to go back to homeschooling. It took my oldest dd a couple of months to acclimate, but now she is happy with it, except she would rather switch to the local Christian school, even on her own dime.

I am glad for all of you that Josh likes 1st grade. He is getting so big. It is funny how he pushes me now in the wheelchair instead of wanting to sit on my lap. We just have to work on the running with it. That is a little scary to go so fast. LOL!!
