The backseat of life

A couple of weeks ago I was taking Seth somewhere as a surprise. As we drove he kept asking things like...

"Are you going to tell me where we're going?"

"How long will it take?"

"Are we there yet?"

"Where are we going? Just tell me!"

It got me thinking about how many times I'm riding along in life with God and I'm bugging him about the plans He has for me. I know I question His plans and authority in my life. I say I completely trust Him for the things He is doing but I nag Him about what's next or when we'll get there.

Today I want to start fresh and not question Him. I want to hang on and enjoy the ride, knowing that eventually He will reveal the surprise for my life. I want to trust that there is a reason He's not telling me exactly what's around the corner!

Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21

For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. Plans to give you hope and a bright future. Jeremiah 29:11.

Great reflection! And may God bless you with the faith to trust Him... even when the rides seems bumpy!

Isn't it amazing how God uses our children to show us His wisdom. It is so awesome that you are open to the Lord. You are amazing!!

That was perfect for me today! I am on a "trip" right now and not knowing exactly where this one is heading. Thank you for sharing this post.

I like your new homepage! I'm also proud to know young couples that pour into the lives of our youth like you and Jeff. What an inspiration for them, a witness for your own sons, and a blessing you probably can't calculate in its entirety today.

You know, my kids want to know the surprise too. I've never taken the time to look at it this way!

Here I am enjoying the ride with you! At least we know where we'll wind up eventually...
