Bedtime prayers

Here are some recent bedtime prayers coming from my kid's room...

Seth 2 yr (in his words)
Dea J-sus,

tank you day, tank you Mama, tank you Daddy, tank you Joshie, tank you me!

Amen (Hands thrown up in air)

I thought it was great that he thanked the Lord for himself, too!!

Josh 5 yr
Dear Jesus,

Thanks for the food you gave us tonight. Thanks for my Mom, Dad and Seth. Thank you that we had a nice day today. Lord, please help me to color in the lines tomorrow at school. We love you God.

In Jesus name, Amen

I love the fact that even the smallest things like coloring in the lines at school matter to him. He is very sincere when he prays and takes it so seriously. I love that he loves the Lord!!

That is so sweet!
I think little kids prayers are the best...there is no pretending, it is just what they are thinking!

My son prays in a combination of your boys. He thanks God for himself and then he prays that he can "read big words". I love it.

Your boys are treasures to be helds with amazement!

We pray with our 1-1/2 year old at bedtime each night. We sit him in his crib, and I get on one side, and my hubby on the other, and we hold his little hands in ours, and either myself or my husband says the prayer. We always try to start and end the prayer exactly the same, and always ask for blessing on each of us and baby brother. Every once in a while, I hear him try to say Jesus and Amen. I can't wait for the day when he really starts saying the prayers with us. We are trying very hard to raise him with a large awareness of God and Jesus.

Kudos to you for teaching your boys to pray.
